That's one of our pendants you see adorning this unique felted bag by Carole of Thistle Woolworks! I think that the Aurora Borealis Smooth Disk pendant is a perfect compliment to the colors she chose. Stop by Carole's website to take a look at some of her original fiber art bags. There's another bag on it's way featuring one of our pendants so stay tuned for a sneak peek!

Finally I'm getting around to featuring some of the talented jewelry designers who have used my ceramic pendants and charms in their designs!

Ishita is the artist behind http://www.gianani.com/ and creates original earrings with several themes, one of them being artist created focal beads.

Take a minute to visit her site and see if you can find the Chinook Jewelry Designs charms!

Here are a couple more of the new glazes as promised! Above is a rectangle charm with the Aurora Borealis glaze in my blueberry pattern. Below is a rectangle pendant in my Art Nouveau pattern with the Blue Charcoal glaze.
In the upcoming week I should have a sneak peek of some gorgeous button charms I just pulled out of the kiln. My friend Allene of Allene's Beads dropped off a big bag of fun antique buttons for me to play with and I must say the results have been terrific!

Also just a reminder that new orders from August 16th through the 20th will be shipped on the 21st. (A little summer vacation!)

I just finished all of my glaze tests with a gigantic batch of new glaze shades. Overall I'm very happy with the majority of the results and they will be popping up on the website very soon!
I'm also introducing a couple of new shapes/sizes, including the most fun rectangle shaped pendants and charms and a charm size that is just a smidge larger than what I've offered in the past.

Here's a blog entry I suspect I will not have the opportunity to repeat... I thought that this was something so flattering that I had to share it! I have recently begun posting images of my ceramic pendants on an online art website called DeviantArt (not as nefarious as it sounds!). In fact, the Beads of Clay group now has a presence there as well showcasing quite a few ceramic artists.
Anyway, I received an email from a DeviantArt member, Cyrella asking my permission to use one of my keyhole pendants as the inspiration for her new tattoo! She was kind enough to email some photos of the finished product (as well as one of her receiving the tattoo which I didn't post in case any of you are needle phobic). I think this is just so great, I love the interesting connections I have had the opportunity to make online.
Now back to the kiln, I have several new glazes that I am testing. Expect to see a few new designs and some gorgeous colors in the next week!

I've had these beads in my head for quite some time but just didn't have the time for the necessary experimentation! So far only one is loaded on the website, a few are available from Allene Rose for anyone who is in the So Cal area. The thing I love about these beads other than their awesome chunkiness is that the holes are large enough to accomodate 12 gauge wire for those of you who like to do heavier wire work.

There's a new blog over at the Beads of Clay site! I'm happy to be one of the many contributors who will be writing about all topics relating to ceramic bead making. There are already several great posts up about the various activities that the talented ceramic artists of BOC are involved in.

My first post to the group is about the BOC presence on deviantArt. There is a nice group forming on the site to show off our ceramic beads and pendants. dA is a very interesting site to check out, lots of incredibly talented artists in all types of mediums. I now have a gallery page set up there as well to feature some of the items on the website.

Be sure to stop by and check it out!

I love how these architectural details have come out.

There are several different styles and colors to choose from that are all ready for shipping.

Something a little different, a three dimensional winged heart on a background of sheet music. I don't feel like the writing/notes show up very well with this bluish glaze but I do like the texture and the feel of the final product!
I've been terrible about posting to the blog so I'm going to make a real effort to at least get something on here every other week. It's tough to get my hands out of the mud and onto the computer sometimes!

I've re-launched the website with a brand new design! Many more ceramic pendants and charms are now listed as well as some new jewelry pieces. I also just introduced a new collection of porcelain pendants, the Modern Art Collection, which features bright funky colors and geometric patterns. Be sure to stop by and sign up for the newsletter as we will be sending out a grand re-opening special offer in the upcoming weeks!
