Does anyone else feel like the weekend flew by? I don't even feel like we did anything, but looking back..I guess it was a good weekend!
Danny usually gets out of work late on Friday nights, so I was a little surprised when he came strolling in the house early. We grilled some steaks and I made a yummy pasta salad. In case you were wondering, we still have a freezer full of Omaha Steaks! After dinner we headed to the store so I could get everything for my swap partner. I had a hard time sticking to the gift limit...the limit that I chose for everyone! Oops! I think Brittney will like everything I sent.
You know what I hate about Jacksonville? There are about five Post Offices, and none of them open on Saturday. Also, there are about a BILLION banks in Jacksonville...and most of them are not open on Saturdays. It doesn't make sense to me. Half of the town works the same hours, doesn't it make sense to be open one of the few days they have off?
Anyway, Saturday morning we had to travel to Richlands. It's not THAT far away..but it's the fact of the matter! The postal worker asked me if the package was fragile. Why do they do that? I said yes, he put a stamp on it...and then tossed it into the bucket. Maybe fragile has a different meaning at a Post Office, but I thought it meant "breakable?!" I'm crossing my fingers that nothing breaks on its travels out to California!
We were going to spend the day in New Bern exploring, but the weather wasn't really on our side. So we ended up watching LOST. This is the third time I've watched the entire season and now that we know how it ends...I catch little things that I've never noticed before. It's like a game. And Kate still bugs me. I wish they killed her off in season one.
I planned a surprise date for Saturday night. When I lived in Chapel Hill we always went to Hams for awesome spinach artichoke dip (they put bacon on top!) and beers. I randomly Googled Hams locations the other day and apparently there used to be one in New Bern. I looked up the new name of the place...SAME MENU! So, even though I told Danny the name of the restaurant we were going to it was still a surprise. He was clueless until we walked in and there was a sign that said "still accepting Hams gift certificates." The artichoke dip was just as good as we remembered! To top the night off we shared some chocolate peanut butter ice cream. A great date night!
Yesterday Danny had some friends over for a little cookout (um, all we do is eat....) My Mom makes awesome sweet and sour kielbasa, I know how she makes it...but I wanted to put my own spin on it. I randomly combined some ingredients...and oh.my.God....it must have been good because those boys ate it up in! We watched the World Cup. Even though I thought the game was a little boring, I think it's pretty sweet that Spain one! And isn't that who Paul the Octopus said would win?!
We finished season two of LOST last night...so looks like we'll be moving on to Season three tonight! At this rate I'm going to need to buy season five this weekend! Cross your fingers that the pawn shop has it cheap!!
Hope everyone had a great weekend! Navy ladies, have you entered my giveaway? Don't miss out! Link is up top!

I Want It Wednesday
This week, I want something that isn't materialistic. I want answers to LOST. I have been a religious fan for 6 seasons, even converted a few people into fans. LOST is addicting, frustrating and confusing. This is the final season and they are supposedly answering questions for the viewers..but after each episode...I just wind up more confused! I'm more interested in the flash-sideways and less interested about the island. Recently, it's gotten boring. I just want answers and for the season to end....well. How disappointing would it be that after six seasons of loyal viewing for the show to end horribly! So this week, I'm asking and wanting JJ Abrams to give his fans some answers!

Home!
And I've already achieved a lot! Went to David's Bridal and bought my jewelery and purse. Then, I made the guest bags for the out of town guests. They have wine, corkscrew, water bottles, special snacks, cool Boston books. All thats left to do is make cookies or something..I'll do that Thursday when everyone starts arriving! I'll post pictures of that after the wedding! I don't want to spoil the secrets for everyone!
Tonight my college roommate, and bridesmaid, Ashley is coming up. We used to have Roomie Wednesdays..of course to watch LOST, but since they changed the day of LOST....we had to change the day of our dates! First we'll get some coffee and work on the seating chart. Then Mom is making a yummy dinner (yayyyy a homecooked meal that doesn't involve breadcrumbs and canned veggies!) and of course...LOST time! I love Tuesdays..and I love my Roomie!
The rest of the week is going to be pretty busy. Tomorrow I have the tasting at the hotel, my Mom and sister (and Maid of Honor) are coming with me. I'm going to bring one of the centerpieces to see how they look. I like them still, but I think they are going to be a little plain...it almost needs a little more bulk. But I really don't feel like spending more money..so I'm going to have to make them look fab (or just deal with it!) Either way, it's just a centerpiece..not too concerned! Thursday I want to (officially) order my cake and get the marriage license.
And Friday! Oh, I love love LOVE Friday's in Boston. Happy Hour at my favorite bar, with my favorite cover band, with my amazing friends. SO excited and LONG overdue!

Cabin Fever
I don't know how someone can stay in a house for a full week with no excitement at all. The highlight of my week so far has been watching LOST and texting Ashley during the entire thing. If I were home in Massachusetts, we would have had dinner and watched it together.
Other than my exciting three hour viewing of LOST, I have done zip-nadda-NOTHING. It's starting to get painful.
Now, you might be wondering what I would be doing if I were still in Massachusetts. WORKING, hanging out with friends/mom, PLUS I'd have all my stuff to keep me busy. But living in limbo leaves me totally and completly bored ALL THE TIME (Friday 6pm - Sunday 6pm, I'm happy as a clam!)
Less than 6 weeks until we are married. Hopefully soon we will have a place to live in Jacksonville. I can't wait to start working, making friends and having fun again!
Sidenote, me and the girls have been getting weird comments from some strange lady who likes to make her opinions a little too clear. I'm not sure about the other girls, but she totally offended me. Saying that I need to buy a cooking book and learn how to budget. Hi, I can't cook because I lack a KITCHEN...OH, wait...I LACK A HOUSE TO HAVE A KITCHEN. Butttttttt give me the stove and I'll whip a meal for you and all your friends. And a budget? Seriously? I'm pretty sure I still have the very first dollar I have ever made. Yes, I worry about money...BUT I ALSO WORRY ABOUT THE END OF THE WORLD, BEING FIVE MINUTES LATE FOR SOMETHING, AND OTHER THINGS THAT I CAN NOT CONTROL. I worry about EVERYTHING. So, lady-with-no-life...please, give me a break..I'm not in the mood for your crap.

Oh Hello Friday!
Thank God. This week FLEW by! And now it's Friday, which means I get to see Danny! Friday is most definetly my favorite day. (Actually, once LOST starts again..LOST day will be my favorite day...sorry babe!)
Anyway. I have been getting a lot of crap lately from a lot of different people. Inviting no kids was major for me, weddings are expensive and since I have so many kids in my family..I had to draw the line somewhere. Like I have said before, I was willing to make one exception to help Danny out (which BTW, still haven't heard from his sister..but that's another story for another day.) but I'm done. I'm done taking other peoples feelings into consideration. In the end, its me and Danny's day and this is how we want to do it.
I don't know what to get my bridesmaids for gifts. I don't want to do anything cheesy, I want something meaningful that they would actually like and use.
This weekend's goals. Find a truck for us to buy, maybe make some appointments to start looking at houses/apartments and have a long-overdue date night. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
