Return of the H&M Slim Knit Blazer!

Some of you may remember this little red knit jacket from H&M. That jacket turned out to be one of my best purchases last year and I wore it almost every weekend. Thanks to PetiteXXS and a few other lovely readers, I was immediately alerted about the return of the knit jacket.

Sorry for the awful photos ... there was just no lighting.

So this jacket is very similar at first glance, but H&M did make a few updates. Below is my red one from last season. As you can see, this season's is longer by about an inch, plus there are three buttons in the front instead of two. Also, there are two little pockets now which is very exciting. The material is still a poly/cotton blend, but it is thinner than the red.

This season's version comes in four colors: heather gray, heather navy (pictured above), beige-pink, and black. A lot of choices, but no bright colors, sadly. See gray & navy on PetiteXXS and beige-pink & navy on PetiteLG.
I highly recommend this jacket for tiny petites because it is so fitted and affordable. Not all stores have this though, so try calling ahead to place it on hold. I described it as a "sweatshirt-like blazer jacket" and gave them the first six numbers of the tag (040299) and the price. Thank you DoubleZero for sharing the tag!

While there I also tried on some new dresses. First up is a trench dress which I can see stylin' on a taller, leggier lady. The price was steep, but to H&M's credit it fit really nicely and I thought it was great quality (although you can see my bum lines in the back).

Next I fell in love with a fluttery dress from their "sustainable materials" collection (I think). The material was chiffon-y and there was a ruffled neckline and a removable belt with clasp. There was only a size 4 left in the navy and gold:

I thought I could make it work, but as soon as I tried on a 2 in the beige, I knew I needed a 2. The neckline on the 4 was too low and the torso wasn't as fitted. I took down the tag info so I can call back for a navy & gold in size 2. Price is again a steeper $39.95 but this is one of those dresses that would be perfect for brunch, a dinner date, or even Spring/Summer work attire if styled properly.

Aside from the navy blazer, I picked up these $34.95 taupe faux-suede shoes in sz 5. H&M shoe quality is not good by any means, but I love my wedge booties from them and you pretty much pay for what you get - fun, fleeting styles that last a season or two for a decent price.
I'm thinking about exchanging these for a bright coral color in the same style:
PS - I mentioned a blog sale tomorrow but sadly there is no way I'll be finished by then. I've been photographing, washing, and listing so much stuff! Also tomorrow is Chinese new year so I hope to be getting some good grub instead of packing clothes. So the blog sale has been postponed until next week. For those who celebrate CNY - have a wonderful new year with your friends & family!
