Boston on a Friday night is one of my favorite things. Except one major thing. The prices in Boston are OUTRAGEOUS. I never realized it before I moved to North Carolina, but holy crap...$4.25 for a Blue Moon and they didn't even give me an orange with it!
Since I was 16 (wow, 9 years ago!) I've been seeing an amazing local band, Me & Julio. And for those 9 years they always played at Hennessy's, my favorite bar. I compare every bar to Hennessy's, for awhile it became my home away from home. The music, the people, everything...perfect.
About a month ago I found out Me and Julio weren't playing at Hennessy's anymore. Their loyal fans were so upset! But they did find a new place to play...they are now at The Point. Not a huge move, maybe ten steps away!
So that's where I spent my Friday night at home. The Point, with my Roomie, Melanie and Jen, three Blue Moon, and an awesome cover band. And a really bad waitress who never came back to give me my bill. Seriously, we waited and waited. Nothing happened...so we left. Screw you $4.25 Blue Moon. I can honestly say I've never done that before. And I'm probably going to hell now.
After committing that sin, we went to Hong Kong for some scorpion bowls. If you have never spent time "up north" you're probably thinking "what the eff is a scorpion bowl." It's a gigantic bowl of alcohol that you share with all of your friends. They are amazing! We listened to some bad karaoke and enjoyed our drink.
Then we went to Paddy O's for some 80's music. I drank, I danced..and had lots of fun.
I haven't done that since before March! So it was LONG overdue. And to think, this was my Friday night for 6 months before I moved. Even after dine & ditch I still spent $50 (eff you Boston parking.) I honestly don't remember the last time I spent $50 on a night out.
It was so much fun hanging out with my Roomie, I can't believe it's been 8 months since I've seen her! Before our Boston night out we had our usual Starbucks date and planned Chrismukkah...just like old times.
As always, Friday night in Boston was a SUCCESS!
