Petite Lookbook: Ponte Gets Punky

I bought these ponte motocross pants a week back and was on the fence about them. I liked the edgy zipper details and comfy ponte material, however the 00P waist/hips were loose and caused dreaded cameltoe (just like on the model...how did an editor approve that pic?).
I took a risk and threw these into the washer then dried on high heat. Voila! The entire pant shrunk down half a size and the waist gap almost went away.

Jacket: H&M peacoat sz 2
Faux-fur collar: H&M   Booties: Calvin Klein "Hadrian" sz 6
Ponte Pants: LOFT Motocross Pant in 00P - sold out in small sizes online, but check stores!

Oh man, how much do I adore this coat below from LOFT? It combines two things that I am obsessing over this season - olive and faux-fur. I saw this jacket online right after I wore the above outfit...even the bf did a double take. The faux-fur collar is detachable and hopefully it should stay put on the lapel, unlike my H&M one. If you've tried on this jacket, please share your thoughts!

Before the wash/shrink, the legs were tight but the waist was loose and had to be hoisted up w/ a belt:

After the wash, the pants measure: 13" across the waist, 16" across the hips, and 24" inseam.

Likes: I love the ponte material, which feels like thicker leggings except with the details of pants. These have a zip fly and tab waist, as well as 2 faux-back pockets. The total length is a smidge long on me with booties, so the 00P should accommodate someone with legs up to an inch or two longer.

Dislike: The overall proportion of fit on these pants are not perfect. Ponte pants need to be tight at the waist/hips/crotch or else it can be very unflattering. Someone who fits these perfectly at the waist may find the legs to be too tight. Although I shrunk these a little, they will probably stretch out again.

Last weekend, I ducked into an F21 and satiated my olive hunger with new tights and earrings. The earrings above broke my first wear but the bf kindly rubber cemented them back together. Despite that, I'm obsessed and want to wear them with everything...I love the vintage glam feel of the olive jewels against the bronze hardware (buy here for $4.80).

The olive tights (buy here for $3.50) are super cheap and come in thirteen colors! I would like to note that they have a little bit of sheen to them, and are not matte. Still, they will do and I'm also looking to pick up the charcoal and navy.

LOFT is having another "How Bloggers Wear LOFT" feature on facebook tomorrow (I'll link to it after it's up). Be sure to check it out then!
